hen they say "Surf's Up" at Mandalay Bay, it might not seem like that big a deal -- unless you consider the fact you're in the middle of the desert, on the Las Vegas Strip, and 300 miles from the nearest ocean.
One of the resort's highlights is an 11-acre lake with a machine capable of creating 6-foot waves, along with a lazy river ride and a sandy beach.

For the indoor types, there are 15 restaurants offering world-class dining, the world's greatest blues artists at the popular House of Blues and the Mandalay Bay Theatre which features productions such as the Tony-award winning show "Chicago."  There's also the 12,000-seat Mandalay Events Center, which features such diverse entertainment as championship boxing and entertainers ranging fron Bette Midler to the Three Tenors.

The $950 million, 3,700-room resort opened in March 1999 and is America's 5th largest hotel.  Included in the resort are 424 rooms and suites managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
Mandalay Bay is the flagship hotel of Mandalay Resort Group.
