"is voice captured all of the excitement of the good life.  He fit right into the environment of Las Vegas," Wynn said.  "Frank Sinatra symbolized all that Las Vegas was about.  Frank Sinatra brought to every place he set foot an excitement, an electrical, crackling excitement that something great was about to happen.  No one else has ever created that level of excitement."
Paul Anka, in an interview in the summer of 2000, recalled performing at the Sands in 1959 and early 1960, at the time the Rat Pack was taking the entertainment world by storm.  Years later Anka would compose "My Way," which became a standard for Sinatra, the leader of the pack.
"They were a bunch of grown men acting like men, and acting like children,"  Anka recalled of the Rat Pack.  "Sinatra was really the guy, and he set the tone in our industry."
